Our Members – Charterboat Association of Puget Sound
The Charterboat Association of Puget Sound (CAPS) proudly represents a network of highly qualified charter professionals. Our members form the backbone of the fishing charter industry across Puget Sound. Each captain and operator shares a commitment to safety, service, and exceptional fishing experiences.
First and foremost, CAPS members meet strict standards before joining. Every captain holds a valid U.S. Coast Guard license. In addition, each vessel carries proper Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife licensing. Furthermore, all members maintain current liability insurance. Because of these requirements, clients can book with confidence. As a result, every trip meets professional and legal standards.

Our members offer a wide variety of fishing opportunities. For example, you can book salmon fishing, halibut trips, bottom fishing, and crabbing excursions. In many cases, captains also customize trips based on your goals and experience level. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned angler, CAPS members deliver a tailored experience. Therefore, every trip feels both personal and rewarding.
CAPS members operate throughout the Puget Sound region. Specifically, you will find charter operators from Olympia to Bellingham and west to Neah Bay. Because of this wide coverage, anglers can easily find a charter near their preferred location. In addition, our members understand local waters, seasons, and fishing conditions. Consequently, they help maximize your chances of success on the water.
CAPS members actively support conservation efforts and sustainable fishing practices in Puget Sound.
Beyond individual trips, CAPS members contribute to the larger fishing community. Many actively support conservation efforts and sustainable fishing practices. Moreover, they work closely with state agencies and fishing organizations. This involvement helps protect fisheries and ensures long-term access for anglers. As a result, booking with a CAPS member supports responsible fishing in Washington State.
Equally important, CAPS members focus on customer experience. They prioritize safety, provide quality equipment, and create a welcoming environment onboard. In turn, guests enjoy not only great fishing but also lasting memories.
When you choose a CAPS member, you choose professionalism, reliability, and local expertise. Therefore, we encourage you to explore our member listings and find the right charter for your next trip.
